Society

Societal structures in omegaverse change depending if it's the more traditionalist approach or not.
In this case, in terms of population structure it can be separated into the following:
ฮฮฑ Alpha 20%
ฮฮฒ Beta 70%
ฮฉฯ Omega 10%Any variants are included in those percentages, with other classes making up 1-2% of the total.
Some rare classes would be less than 1%.Whereas which secondary gender is more valued or not, well again it depends on the approach.
Hierarchies
Usually there is a belief that alphas belong at the top, whilst omegas belong to the bottom, seen as only broodmares. Traditionally it is more or less like it, wherein omegas lacked the possibility to own land, to inherit, and sometimes were traded for good and social status of families. As of now most of these are seen as archaic, although some beliefs and traditions persist in certain communities.
Hierarchy 1
In terms of societal approaches, traditionally, this is a rough hierarchy, many of the rare classes are not taken into consideration and are usually placed with the common class they derive from. This is a traditional approach in terms of value to society, their social standing, or how much power they have in said society.

Hierarchy 2
In terms of pheromones, meaning how much the pheromones may influence the class below, this is a rough hierarchy; the starred classes are difficult to place due to their ability to have different levels of pheromones of the main common classes. Usually variants are just called their common class (since many are not immediately recognized as a different sub-class), and considered a more powerful or lesser version of pheromones of the common class (ie Enigmas are Alphas with more powerful hormones).

Presenting
A secondary gender is โpresentedโ when it is made obvious by certain changes in the childโs physiology and biology, and used to be considered as coming of age. Mostly when presenting is when the scent of the person becomes more distinct and more their own, than a pup's usual scent.
.
Alphas: Present with their first rut, and at a younger age range than betas (13-15 years).Betas: Present gradually as they โloseโ their scent glands, usually around the ages of 15-17 years.Omegas: Present with their first heat, at an older age range than most betas (16-18 years).
.
Testing can be done between the ages of 12 and 16, although not 100% accurate. It can give an approximate due the hormone production. Certainty for the common class is usually confirmed during the presentation period.
.
Rare cases of โlate-bloomersโ may occur in any secondary gender, wherein they can present way past the normal range of ages expected for a presentation. This can vary due to genetics or environmental factors. โEarly-bloomersโ may also occur, however most cases are due to environmental factors leading to an early presentation; which most are associated negatively. Before presenting they are referred to as pups or kits, no matter the age. When presenting or having symptoms, it is necessary to seek shelter, a place where one can be isolated. There are services to aid those that present in public places.

Traditions and Myths
There are many known traditions, some are still widely practiced and others are not. Same goes with myths, some are still common knowledge, some are pure fantasy, some may have been disproven.
In any case, these traditions, myths and beliefs vary from different areas, and time periods; most popular and known ones tend to stick around for longer.
Courting
One of the traditions that are still practiced, but often called old fashioned. Courting was a way in which an alpha tried to win the omegaโs favor. It was very common in high society, even when a couple had an arranged marriage as it was a sign of goodwill. It was also practiced, although to a lesser extent, with couples involving betas.Traditional courting between alphas and omegas involved gift giving, many were trinkets that had the otherโs smell; generally the gifting was done by the alpha, but an omega initiating the courting wasnโt unheard of. Courting also involved a display in talents, generally through art, dance, and song. Lastly, if an omega were to accept, the last โhurdleโ was that the alpha was to build a nest worthy of the omega. Wherein the omega would spend their heat, whether accompanied or not by the alpha was up to discretion.Courting, when a beta is involved, generally goes down similarly; except the nest is simpler with less trinkets that have been scented. This is regardless whether the beta is on the giving or receiving end of the courting.
The Hunt
Also known as โthe omega runโ, was an exclusively discriminatory event. Alphas, and a few selected betas were to chase down and hunt the omegas that had come of age in the community; said omegas were often already presenting with symptoms of a preheat, and sometimes accompanied by some unwilling betas to run with them. Almost all omegas were mated and bonded by the end of the run, whether it was willingly or not, even a few betas did not escape the rutting alphas. This tradition was outlawed; however, smaller and isolated communities might still practice such a tradition on a smaller scale. Wherein bonding is controlled as most of the time omegas possess collars, though there have been many incidents.
Brawls and Fights
A rather unspoken tradition but quite known, though not practiced as it used to be. Wherein two alphas could fight for their right to mate with their desired omega. Rarely was it two omegas fighting to decide who gets to be mated by their desired alpha. In very remote places, this was slightly different, wherein fights were made between youngsters and the winner had rights to mate the loser. These places had the highest percentages of bitching and studding, and was how the terms came to be known.
Bonding
There are many myths when bonding is involved. It is believed that omegas must be in heat, and that they must be knotted so the bond takes. This belief stems from the fact that the swollen gland, due to the heat, is more likely to stay marked as the stretch skin allows for easier rupture; the knot, and orgasm in itself, aid the omega in feeling less pain when the skin is broken. This being said, an omega, and even an alpha, can be bonded outside of their cycle, though it might not happen on the first try and it might be more painful. Betas can be bonded with, however it is difficult for it to take due to the thick skin near the gland, and their blunter teeth.Spiritually speaking, most individuals say to be able to sense their pairโs mood and state of mind. Being more attuned to the otherโs more subtle changes in scent. The bonded individuals have also mentioned pain, when their other half is in pain; or even suffering when they are apart for too long. For these reasons, many bonded pairs also bring forth the myth that once bonded their heat and rut can only be felt by each other.Another belief is that bond marks are permanent. While this is technically true, there is a very delicate hormonal balance that has to be taken into account (further explained in Biology - Mating and Bonding). The most correct answer is that once a mark appears it cannot be removed, but can sometimes be 'overwritten'. The spiritual impact of this however, is rather taxing to the body. Most describe an unwanted bond as torturous, whereas breaking a bond has been described as either freeing, or a pain that is too unbearable.
Fated Pairs
A myth that is very much believed today, though there is no science to disprove, or prove it. Most that have researched upon it believe that certain mixtures of pheromones are more attractive and irresistible to certain individuals than others. Much like certain mixtures are absolutely disgusting and off-putting.Spirituality comes into play greatly on this, where the โinner selfโ usually recognizes said fated pair after their first encounter. Sometimes it is said that a fated pair, destined, should not be broken for it would cause that pair to despair for the other. Others find that fated pairs are inevitable. Mostly it is a myth that has been quite respected, sometimes even breaking norms in older times. So how to ensure a fated one has been found?
Some say that the pull is too strong to resist, most skeptical individuals just say it is wishful thinking.
Other Myths and Beliefs
โUnbonded omegas with children canโt be bondedโ
This belief is certainly untrue, however it stemmed from a rather cruel and animalistic practice that alphas attacked and tried to kill an unbonded omegaโs pups in order to mate and bond with them. They had the false belief that said omegas would not have a heat and therefore be unable to be bonded. The mortality for children with an unmated omega parent was above 90%. Nowadays, it is a belief still found in rural areas, with the aforementioned mortality rate still prevalent in such places.
.โOmegas in heat need to be knottedโ
Another belief that stems from the traditionalist hierarchies, as explained, omegas are just in pain and rather uncomfortable. Of course, sexual intercourse makes them feel relieved (much like an alpha in rut; and much more than simple masturbation); however this does not not signify that an omega must be knotted in order for their heat to pass (though it can be very painful for some).Certain services exist for omegas (and alphas) that have very painful cycles.
You can check out Healthcare - Laws and Services
.โOmegas need to be knotted to get pregnantโ
Not true, as omegas can become pregnant outside of a heat, or outside of sharing a rut with an alpha. It is indeed a statistical fact that they are more likely to get pregnant when knotted (that is the function of a knot, and also of a rut); but it is not the only moment they could get impregnated.
.โA pup should always have both parentโs scentsโ
A simple version to this, is because there were beliefs that if the pup is not scented by both parents, they will not develop well, and therefore suffer of developmental problems. A pup innately recognizes their parentโs scent, specially when younger, as their own scent is a mixture of both their parents before it develops a scent of their own (which is derived from both their parentโs scents.)Another belief for this stems from certain incestuous practices in old, traditional, high society. Where if a pup wasnโt scented properly, they wouldnโt recognize โfamilyโ and would want to mate with โfamilyโ when in their cycle. There have been exceptions to the rule, but usually the individual can recognize smells related to familiar bonds. These scents can indeed calm down an omega or alpha in their cycle, making it less painful as the pheromone discharge may be reduced in response.
Biology
A look into the various biological and physiological aspects of the main secondary genders.I tried my best to describe a sort of biology. Please disregard attempts at drawing anatomy.

Sound Box
Sounds is not something often mentioned, however it is very important in terms of non-verbal communication. Some universal sounds can be the following.Growling: Low, guttural noise made in the throat, meaning to back-off, and it is a universal warning of displeasure.
Hissing: Low โsโ sound, meaning to back-off, and a universal warning of danger and displeasure. Generally, alphas do not hiss as it is a subtler warning than growling; it is more likely that alphas use a hiss at naughty children than a growl. There are other different sounds made by either alphas, omegas, betas, and a child that has yet to present.
Pups/Kits
Chirping: Quick, and sharp high-pitched sound. Usually can express excitement and joy, as well as a way for calling their parents. Chirps that are higher pitched than the usual, and less frequent between each chirp, can signal distress. An exception is that omegas can also chirp.
Alphas
Rumbling: Continuous, deep sound. Used for when alphas feel calm and relaxed, but can also serve for soothing, others or themselves. In a high stress situation it is likely that the alpha might start rumbling unconsciously.Chuffing: Puffing-like sound. When alphas are very content, and overjoyed, youโd hear an alpha chuff at their mate, and sometimes a very close friend. It is a very intimate sound, reserved only for those the alpha is truly close with.Commanding: Firm and deep tone, accompanied with pheromones. When an alpha gives a command, it is difficult to resist for those of lesser hierarchy, or for weaker alphas.
Omegas
Trilling: High-pitched rolling โrโ sound in the back of the throat that typically occurs in short intervals. It is a soft and non-threatening way to get attention. Like an inquiry when approaching someone, to notify a group of omegas of their departure or to be followed, or even to let themselves known in a room. Usually not used in a very public setting, or directed at strangers.Purring: Low, continuous vibratory sound. When omegas are very content, and overjoyed, relaxed or even used when nursing their child. It can help for soothing, but also for self-soothing. In a high stress situation it is likely that the omega might start purring unconsciously.Chirping: Quick, and sharp high-pitched sound. Omegas use it to answer to their child, or sometimes even to other children. Usually to ensure they are in a safe group, or to share the joy and excitement with their child. Other omegas might chirp at each other to ensure they are safe.
Betas
Cooing: Soft murmuring sound. Betas use it when tension gets high due to other pheromones in order to calm down those affected by it, including other more sensitive betas. Can be used to soothe much like purring or rumbling.
Scenting
Scents are very important, and therefore scenting another is seen as a very important decision. The scent glands described are different from the usual scent glands, as these release pheromones as well as the odor associated. When scenting another, it is almost a claim that the other belongs to them. This can be seen mainly from alphas and omegas, as betas have a very mild or muted scent, but some still partake in scenting.
Scenting between bonded pairs can bring a more soothing effect.
Scenting from a parent to their child is important as it can give a layer of protection as well as comfort and safety, since the pup does not have their own scent and just reproduces a mild mixture of both the parentโs scents.
Major (Primary) Scent Glands
The major scent glands located by the neck can be rubbed against the exposed skin, against clothes or any other garment; this major scent gland gives off the strongest odor and pheromones.Major scent glands located on the inner thighs and general groin area are usually never used for scenting outside of intercourse and mating, or very heavy scenting sessions, due to the very obvious pheromone discharge.Major scent glands tend to swell when an alpha or an omega enters their cycle, especially more in omegas; which is why heavy scenting sessions that rub and irritate major scent glands may lead to a short induced cycle-like reaction.
Secondary Scent Glands
These are less prominent than major scent glands and swell much less when an alpha or omega is going through their cycle.Secondary glands, which are located on the wrists and cheeks, can be used for a more subtle and less invasive scenting, which is most commonly done.
Secondary glands located near the chest area are more prominent in omegas than alphas or betas, and are more swollen after an omega has given birth.

A simplified diagram of where the major and secondary glands are located. Even when separated into this two groups there are significant differences in the pheromone discharge. The areas in red have the highest pheromone discharge and generally present mild swelling during a cycle. The areas in yellow have a significant pheromone discharge, but present no swelling. The areas in green have the lowest pheromone discharge. However, the chest area glands do get swollen for omegas after birth, and produce additional pheromones to calm their offspring.
Nests
Associated as a very omega trait, nests are usually made up of soft materials that generally smell to something the individual finds comforting. Nests are something very personal, particularly when they are prepared for a most vulnerable moment. In couples, the nest builder always seeks approval of their partner, rejection can even lead to a delay in their cycle due to stress.Omega nests are usually the most elaborate of nests, and the most particular when it comes to how items are arranged within them. Omegas will also nest when expecting, and when nursing.Alphas also make nests, though most of the time they may make one for their omega (or beta), and await for approval (whether for courting or as a show of love and care); sometimes alphas in pre-rut may make a make-shift nest in order to seek comfort in familiar smells.Betas also nest, particularly if their partner is of another common class, however the nests are usually less elaborate. These are simpler, and with less materials in them.Pups can sometimes do a make-shift nest when stressed or scared, particularly if they are not in their motherโs nest. They do also sometimes practice making nests to show they like another pup; this is usually seen as something sweet and endearing.
Heats and Ruts
This section also includes information about a betaโs presentation.
Pheromones (and hormones though they will be implicitly included when mentioning pheromones) take a large role in the presentation, and later on in the cycle the classes may have. The large influx of hormones may cause alphas and omegas in these cycles to enter a certain primal state, wherein their main thought is to seek relief, found generally when copulating. The omega will desire to be bred and in exchange the alpha will desire to breed, this only amounts to the desperation of seeking relief due to the swollen scent glands that are releasing frequent and concentrated amounts of pheromones due to the hormonal reaction in the cycle. Temperature fluctuations are common to both ruts and heats, however omegaโs larger hormonal changes may lead to be more obviously perceived body temperature changes. For omegas or even alphas that are bonded, it is very likely that in their heat or rut, they look for relief only from their bonded pair as their bodies recognize the otherโs scent and pheromones. Contrary to popular belief, not only the bonded pair can smell the otherโs rut or heat, however the scent becomes less attractive to others. Even to a certain point of disgust.
Pup Anatomy
The primary sex/gender is distinguished by the amount of pheromones secreted, which then also influence the โstrengthโ of the secondary gender class presentation. It is worth mentioning that pups are born with underdeveloped defining sets of sex organs, for the secondary genders. Making it difficult to distinguish by anatomy alone their common class secondary gender. Some important anatomical points are: the birth canal in a pup is very smooth, but also surrounded by strong muscles - which make it impossible to expand (lacking the elasticity gained in maturity), and that the cloacal membrane is very thick in a pup, any wear and tear to either is to be reported immediately to a healthcare provider and appropriate authorities.

Alpha Ruts
Alphaโs First Rut
For their first rut, the pre-rut symptoms are almost completely different. Alpha's will seek more isolation from the rest as their irritability become more apparent due to the changes that begin. This first pre-rut can last 1 or 2 days, sometimes even less as it transitions almost imperceptibly into their first rut.The first rut may be less 'violent' (as most would describe an alpha's rut) than others in the future, this is due to a first rutting alpha leaning more towards isolation than searching for a partner. Mostly is due to the pain they feel, making most feel to vulnerable to be around others. This pain can be due to various aspects. One is the pain to the gums, sometimes even bleeding slightly as the canine teeth grow larger and start to widen the space they need. The canines sharpen further during the few weeks after the first rut, which may initially cause some lacerations to the inner cheeks. Another is the rapid growth of the clitoral tissue, which becomes the alphaโs knot at the base of the penis; which can be painful during the first few ruts as the tissue swells over.During the first rut as well as in the next 3 to 4 ruts, the alpha's hips narrow as the uterus and ovaries become vestigial areas of said tissue. In exchange the prostate and testicles become more prominent. Both the partial-cloaca and the birth canal fully scar over and close. For female alphas in particular, the testicles become internal as they move upwards whilst the birth canal closes; they become bulging and prominent when in a state of sexual excitation.
.
.
Alphaโs Pre-Rut
After the first rut, the pre-rut becomes more pronounced. This period prior to an established may sometimes cause irritability, and increased appetite due to needing to constantly chew on something as the gums get slightly inflamed.Contrary to popular belief, a pre-rut can lead to a decrease in libido due to irritation to some of the major glands as these swell. A mated alpha may seek more of their partner's scent as a form of calming themselves, and heavy scenting sessions may decrease the irritation caused.
.
.
Alphaโs Established Ruts
Once the alpha enter their cycle fully, the first noticeable change from their pre-rut is the heightened sexual libido that is accompanied with possessiveness and aggression; this in turn may make them more territorial. Pheromones produced during this time are very concentrated. If the alpha has a mate, it makes them needier and clingier with said mate. The gums which had previously been inflamed, might start to hurt and may cause the alpha to feel an itch to bite and mark. During the rut the alphaโs knot may swell easier and last longer, which also causes more semen to be produced when a knotting occurs. This swelling causes the alpha to search for relief to their knot as enough pressure is required to press against the sensory tissue around it. This is when it is likely that an alpha might request for a partner to go through a rut (see Healthcare - Laws and Services). An alphaโs rut can occur every 3 to 4 months, and can last between 3 to 5 days. Chemically induced ruts may disrupt the cycle, and may last longer than the average. Pheromone exposure induced ruts may disrupt the cycle, and may last less than the average, up to 1 day.
Omega Heats
Omegaโs First Heat
For their first heat, the pre-heat symptoms are mostly similar to subsequent pre-heats. The most common difference is that during the first pre-heat, the omega will shed some blood, regardless of primary gender. The second most common difference is that they will go through a pre-heat fever, with increased core temperature changes.Similar to alphas, omegas on their first heat have a worse pain with their canines growing larger. The difference is that these are shorter and remain less sharp than those in alphas.Heats have a period of intense pain. This first heat's 'pain period' may last longer than others in the future, ranging from 3 to 4 days of intense pain. Unlike in the future heats, within the first one the majority of the pain comes from the scent glands swelling. The omega hormone composition also cause slick glands swell (to a less painful degree). It also causes the partial-cloacal membrane to expand with the sexual excitation, allowing it to be more permeable to and allow semen through easily. This surge of hormones also initiate the softening of the muscles in the birth canal, however there are important differences between male and female omegas.Within this first heat, as well as in the next 3 to 4 heats, the omega's hips widen as the uterus and ovaries become more developed, and as testicles and prostate slowly become smaller; although in male omegas the size of the prostate reduces much less than in females, which brings them more pleasure during anal intercourse. Another difference for male omegas, is that the birth canal does not expand with sexual excitation, and remains rather tight; usually never used for intercourse as it may cause a dangerous tear. A male omega's birth canal muscles soften sufficiently only when exposed to pregnancy hormones. For female omegas, similar to female betas, the penis becomes smaller and morphs to act like a secondary pseudo-clitoris (See beta presentation section). Unlike male omegas, for female omegas, their birth canal does expand with sexual excitation, enabling intercourse through it; in exchange the partial-cloacal membrane is less permeable.
.
.
Omegaโs Pre-Heat
After both first pre-heat and heat, the 'pain period' may blend in-between during pre-heat and heat. This cab cause irritability, and decreased appetite due to the constant pain (now mostly focused on the abdomen).During these pre-heats fluctuations in perceived temperature may occur, making the omega feel feverish and hot, or freezing cold even if their core temperature remains unchanged. Some bleeding may also occur due to the swelling uterine walls, the bleeding usually is shed through the birth canal, although some could go through the partial cloaca. Male omegas are less likely to shed blood after their first pre-heat and heat.A mated omega may seek more of their partner's scent as a form of calming themselves, and can also bring some relief during the 'pain period'. During a pre-heat is the time in which an omega is more likely to want to make a nest.
.
.
Omegaโs Established Heats
After the cycle has been established, there is a noticeable heightened sexual libido that is accompanied with possessiveness, and possible submissiveness, which may make them more vulnerable. This can present differently depending on the omega's environment. If the omega feels safe, the possessiveness is less violent, and won't usually fight back the submissiveness instincts. However if the omega is not in an environment they deem safe enough, they will become highly territorial of their nest area, and might attack any who come close.
(There may be some exceptions to this, taking into account the omega's character)If the omega has a mate, it makes them needier and clingier with said mate, they may also become more demanding in their needs. The scent glands swell and might start to hurt slightly, which make the omega itch to be bitten and marked. Pheromones produced during this time are very concentrated. During heats not only the sexual libido, but the partial-cloacal membrane expands and swells, making impregnation more possible. All of which may cause more slick than during usual intercourse, to be produced. The swelling to the slick glands also cause the omega to search for relief in the form of a knot, as a swollen knot can cause enough pressure against them to relieve the build up of slick production.
(Omegas have been generally seen to need to maintain their purity, so not only are services available but also products to assist during a difficult heat - See Healthcare - Laws and Services)For female omegas, their birth canal muscles swell, and become softer and more elastic than usual, in order to open more as the slick produced there is less (Less slick glands present). For male omegas, the slick glands in the birth canal are only affected by pregnancy hormones. An omegaโs heat can occur every 1 to 3 months, and can last between 3 to 5 days. Chemically induced heats may disrupt the cycle, and may last longer than the average. Pheromone exposure induced heats may disrupt the cycle, and may last less than the average, up to 2 days.

Beta Presentation
For both male and female betas, their scent glands are some of the first to show changes. These become less swollen as the presentation period progresses, and the are thickens up with additional layers of skin tissue. This in turn causes their scents to be milder and in some cases imperceptible. These changes may cause lethargy during the period of presenting. A period which can last from 3 to 5 months.Male betas have a similar changes as in alphas; the hips narrow, and the uterus and ovaries shrinks until just a few centimeters of tissue remains. The birth canal and partial cloaca are get completely sealed off, as it scars over. This process may cause a bit of itching. For female betas; the hips widen, and the penis becomes smaller and morphs to act like the secondary pseudo-clitoris, as the tissue remains sensitive around the urethral opening. The partial cloaca generally scars over to be sealed, although in some cases it just gains thickness making it impermeable. The birth canal expands as the muscles around it become more elastic in a more permanent manner (Unlike with omegas). The slick glands are one of the few gland to remain, though these reduce in size; the slick produced is also fewer as the glands never swell enough due to the lack of scent gland swelling and therefore the production of necessary hormones). The prostate and testes also reduce in size, becoming a few millimeters of vestigial tissue that lines the outside wall of the uterus.

Knotting and Slick
Knots that have yet to swell are the fleshier part at the base of an alpha's the penis, that then engorges with a very high sexual excitement, such as an orgasm. However, pheromones play an important role in the swelling of the knot, and thus is not as common for a knot to form if the alpha is not in a rut, or if they are mating with an omega outside of their heat; which are moments when the alphaโs scent glands swell enough to release sufficient pheromones for constant knotting.Slick is a semi-translucent substance that acts as a self-lubricant, and that is secreted when an omega, or female beta (to a much less extent), is sexually excited. Omegas in heat may produce even more copious amounts of slick due to the swelling of their scent glands, and by effect the swelling of the slick producing glands. Slick has a dull sweet smell, and it is generally tasteless, or even slightly acidic; it has been compared in literature to certain types of honey.
Mating and Bonding
The term 'mating' is defined as the act of having sexual intercourse whilst one of the partners is going through their cycle; although it is also popularly used to refer to sexual intercourse not related to a cycle. The term 'bonding' is defined (scientifically) as the act of marking the major scent gland on the neck and having it successfully scar over. The more romantic definition is when a couple, traditionally but not exclusively, of an alpha and omega that become life partners through a connection that transcends biology.
(See more in Spirituality - Bonds and Destiny)'Bonding' has been further studied, and even though some aspects are still not understood fully, a general grasp of the concept on how it affects the biology of the secondary gender has been uncovered.
Claiming Bites
'Claiming' is directly related to 'bonding'. These bites have an effect on the receiver's biology.Generally, when an alpha bites, the sharp canines are able to pierce right into the scent gland. Particularly a bite to the most superficial major scent gland located on the nape, which also has the most receptors. These major scent glands are where most of the production of hormones (and pheromones) are located. Additionally, the major scent glands have specialized chemical receptors, although it is still not understood how they function. The saliva produced right after the alpha bites is particularly charged with a mixture of hormones and other proteins, hypothesized to come from small glands close to the canines. This mixture not only helps heal the bite wound, but also causes the receptors to react and produce a particularly thick scarring that slightly bulges from the skin and remains white in colour. If such a bite does not produce this particular scarring, it usually indicates that either the bite was not deep enough to pierce into the scent gland tissue; or that the receptors did not react to the chemical mixture introduced. It is hypothesized that there is a certain incompatibility of hormones and proteins in this case, however it is yet unknown how to classify such incompatibilities with accuracy. It has also been seen that the body can adapt and change its receptors in order to be compatible and eventually โbondโ. Although, there have also been other cases where biologically speaking there was no incompatibility with the receptors, however, the โbondโ simply never took (further studies of this case were unavailable as the case study involved a victim of abuse).
(See Spirituality - Bonds and Destiny)If said โbondโ takes, then the particular scarring remains and the proteins along with the hormones received start to change the pheromones. This means that the receiving partner starts to produce a mixed, but very light scent that is similar to the alpha that claimed them. This can also affects how others perceive the couples cycle, and how they become more sensitive to each otherโs cycles. It is relatively easier for a bond to be formed when an alpha bites an omega, than when they bite a beta. When omegas or betas attempt t produce these bites, it is harder for the 'bond' to take due to the lack of sharpness to pierce correctly and deeply into the scent gland. As well as the lack of the concentrated mixture of hormones and proteins in the saliva. Omegas and betas can produce such a mixture on a diluted form (such has been found in studies, however the gland has been too small to locate). Ultimately, if the 'bond' takes it is no different than previously described.Alphas can be the receivers of such a bite.
Overwriting and Unbonding
When a claiming bite occurs, and it ends with a bond being produced, the thick scar tissue is permanent and cannot be physically removed. However, there is a possibility to 'overwrite' the bond as well undoing it.With the knowledge acquired from research, many methods have arose into these achieving these two concepts.'Overwriting' occurs when another 'bond' overpowers and takes over the previous one. This is a longer process than simply just having a first bond; this is due to the receptors already being occupied and so the reaction to rebind them takes effort. Usually the body does not want to change the receptors and will actively produce the hormone and pheromone mixture of the previous bond, interrupting the cycle. The several attempts as well as the hormonal imbalance it cause will take a great physical and emotional toll on the receiver. The hormonal imbalance will not only alter the cycle, but it can lead to extreme pain on the scent glands, fevers, and a general state of stress and depression. It is alleviated once the process of overwriting is either stopped or it is successful. It is important to note that in some case studies with forced bonds, the one going through the process has reported a reduced negative reaction when the bond is overwritten with a desired bond.'Unbonding' occurs when a treatment is used to artificially separate the bound proteins from the receptors, and therefore causing the scent gland to stop the mixed hormone and pheromone production. This process is still on trial. So far the treatment, which consists of 3 injections to the major scent gland to the nape, includes a mixture of hormone suppressants, and two target proteins that serve as a โsplitterโ and an artificial temporal 'binder'. Success in trial runs have varied, and many have seen some secondary effects. Those who have gone through the process and have agreed for a follow up describe the feeling as agony and torture. Most say it just feels like something is being torn from their being, and left empty. Many others that declined a follow up were reported to have fainted during the process due to the shock of pain and stress. For all participants, their scents have been restored, although they remain mild even during their cycles.
To mention that if a claiming bite is made to other major scent glands (not the nape), the effects are the same. However, if a claiming bite is also made to the nape's major scent gland, the proteins and hormones from this bite will overpower the ones in the other areas. This causes for the receptors in the other major glands to reject the bound protein, this may lead to a bit of itching to the scar tissue. This is why the majority of the claiming bites are done to the nape, and when overwriting and unbonding is involved, the major scent gland in the nape is the one that is usually talked about.
Bitching and Studding
'Bitching' usually refers to the act of turning an alpha into an omega, whereas 'studding' refers to the act of turning an omega into an alpha. Due to their lack of secondary hormone production, betas cannot bitch or stud any other class. However, it is possible to bitch or stud a beta, although it is difficult to turn an alpha or omega into a beta without any medical intervention.
Bitching
There are some ways on how an alpha (or beta) can be bitched, which ultimately involve in a hormone counter response that changes the chemistry of the hormones produced by the scent glands. An alphaโs scent glands must be in constant direct exposure to alpha pheromones, be it with frequent heavy scenting of their major scent glands, attempted bonding (from another alpha), and/or constantly taking in alpha semen. Bitching is very difficult if an alpha is bonded to a non-alpha.When this process is done shortly before and after an alphaโs first rut, it is possible to change their presentation fully into that of an omega, as the hormones are influenced before the body finishes changing. The bitched young alpha that presents as an omega, will smell like an omega and will have heats. They will be able to birth pups; although there will be some complications, as their ovaries and uterus may be slightly smaller than average. If this process is done on a mature alpha, they will not change into an omega. However, their scent will change to be similar to an omegaโs, and they will have a heat-like cycle as the slick glands will start to swell and produce slick. Their knots will also become smaller, sometimes almost disappear. They cannot birth pups due to their uterus and ovaries having been reduced to being vestigial after their subsequent ruts in their youth. For a beta to be bitched and to present like an omega, it must be done in the period of their presentation, which is a shorter window of time than an alphaโs. Similarly, a mature beta will have a similar scent to an omega, and could produce slick, and have a lighter induced heat-like cycle (due to the less amount of hormones produced). Pups can only be birthed by a female bitched beta.Bitching is possible to be done by an omega, only if the receiving alpha is constantly taking semen from their omega, and they have no bond. This process is long, difficult, and almost impossible. It is not possible for an omega to bitch a beta due to the lack of counter response from the scent gland receptors to the omega's hormones and pheromones.
Studding
Studding works in a similar way to how bitching doesBoth an omega or beta can be studded. The scent glands must be in constant direct exposure to omega pheromones, be it with frequent heavy scenting of their major scent glands, attempted bonding (to a receiving omega), and/or constantly producing semen (which is generally produced when mating with an omega; mostly before the omega to be studded is fully matured). Studding is very difficult if an omega is bonded to a non-omega.When this process is done shortly before and after an omegaโs first heat, it is possible to change their presentation into an alpha as the hormones are influenced before the body finishes changing. The studded omega that presents as an alpha, will smell like an alpha and will have ruts. They will be able to knot and to impregnate another; although it is likely that their knot is smaller, or the sperm count to be lower. If this process is done on a mature omega, they will not change into an alpha. However, their scent will change to be similar to an alphaโs, and will have a rut-like cycle; their slick glands will continue to swell and produce slick on a much lesser quantity. Theyโll be able to knot, albeit with a very small swell size, caused by the engorgement of the true clitoris. They will slowly lose their ability to give birth as the cloaca and birthing canal may narrow and create an impermeable membrane as their prostate slightly grows in size; they will, however, not be able to impregnate another. For a beta to be studded and present like an alpha, it must be done in the period of their presentation, which is a shorter window of time than an omegaโs. Similarly, a mature beta will have a similar scent to an alpha, and could have a small knot, as well as a lighter induced rut-like cycle (due to the less amount of hormones produced). Impregnation would only be possible by male studded betas.Studding is possible to be done by an alpha, only if the omega is constantly producing semen, through intercourse with the receiving alpha, and they have no bond. This process is long, difficult, and almost impossible. It is not possible for an alpha to stud a beta due to the lack of counter response from the scent gland receptors to the alpha's hormones and pheromones.
Intervention
'Intervention' used to be called โneuteringโ as it prevented the presentation of a rut or heat, and instead caused the individual to become a beta. A rather insulting way of calling it nowadays, and is therefore now referenced only as 'intervention process'.This used to be highly difficult, as in the past there were no services to provide the treatment, and the intervention was less strictly controlled; potentially causing hormonal imbalances to the individual, that still presented as another class and not a beta as they so had desired. The modern approved treatment consists of the use of a double hormone suppressant for what would be the duration of the first 4 to 5 cycles (12 to 16 months, conservatively), this is if the treatment is started immediately after the individual starts presenting. The double hormone suppressant suppresses, ignoring the redundancy, to a greater extent than normal suppressants, a wide range of both alpha and omega hormones (not only, but majorly focusing on the cycle inducing ones). This then causes the individual to start presenting as a beta, once the major scent glands have gained a certain thickness to the skin covering them, then the treatment's dosage is slowly lowered. If after 6 to 8 months of the gradual decrease in the treatment dosage the individual doesnโt present with a heat or a rut, then the treatment is deemed successful and the dose is stopped. If it does happen, then the dosage is gradually increased back to threshold, and the process is repeated. The treatment may be done after the individual is mature, however this will only make them produce beta pheromones, and lack a cycle. It is also more likely to fail, even after a period of success, and revert back to the usual hormone production; or even cause an increase of said hormone production, leading to a more aggressive and long lasting cycle.
Pregnancy and Birth
Due to the differences in biology, as well as how the different levels of hormones and pheromones affect their secondary genders, due to their primary sex; the percentage of successful impregnation, pregnancy, and delivery can greatly vary, even before taking other factors into consideration.
Female Betas/Female Omegas
Female betas and female omegas have the highest successful pregnancy percentages, with female omegas' being slightly higher. Due to their birth canal being less narrow, and more elastic, the birthing complications are minimal.
Male Omegas
Male omegas have the lowest pregnancy percentages to the omega classes, perhaps only second to etas. Their birthing canal is narrower and can stretch less, even when induced by labor.Birthing complications are frequent, and can usually lead to mother and infant death. In modern times, most male omegas prefer to have their children through cesarean rather than natural birth due to these complications.
Omega Variants (ฮฮผ Mu)
Zennos presenting as an omega can get pregnant much like a female or male omega. The percentage of pregnancy is lower as the difference in hormones that causes milder heats reduce the percentage of successful impregnations, though no complications are seen throughout the pregnancy itself.(For more information see Rare Classes - Zennos)
.
.
Omega Variants (ฮจฯ Zeta-Psi)
Zetas that are currently presenting as an omega (on a Psi cycle) can get pregnant much like a female or male omega. When pregnant, the zeta's body will not change as the hormones produced by the pregnancy will stop the hormone shift. After delivery, the pregnancy hormones will decrease and the hormone shift will begin again.(For more information see Rare Classes - Zeta)
Female Alpha Variants
(ฮฅฯ
Luna-Upsilon)
Female lunas, a class of alpha variant, are able to become pregnant, this is due to their hormone insensibility, which during development it causes an incomplete closing of the cloaca, and/or the birthing canal. By which the access to the uterus is still possible. (For more information see Rare Classes - Luna)It is worth mentioning that male lunas are very rare, as it is the female hormones that affect the effect of alpha hormones during development. Although this class of alpha is able to get pregnant, it is very unlikely that they can carry to term.Only a few births (four - 4) have been recorded, two (2) were stillborn, one (1) died a few weeks later. The sole surviving pup was delivered through a cesarean at the expense of the motherโs expiration.
Omega Variants (ฮฮท Eta)
Female etas are very unlikely to get pregnant, as even though they retain their uterus and ovaries, they are greatly underdeveloped (it is almost impossible for male eta as both uterus and ovaries are likely to be even less developed than a female eta's).
(For more information see Rare Classes - Eta)In the chance they do, they usually do not notice as it is likely that the child does not make it past the first few months. There are no records of an eta carrying to term.
Alpha/Omega Variants
(ฮฮบ Omni-Kappa)
Omni, is classified as both an alpha and an omega variant, due to being able to be both of those common classes at the same time. There are records showing them to be capable of pregnancy. In such records, Omni were report to not show any complications during the pregnancy, rather showed to have a high successful pregnancy rate. However, it cannot be confirmed, and the data cannot be compared to the other classes and sub-classes as these variants are
Healthcare

Healthcare has developed even more in modern times. With the creation of synthetic medicines, as well as the creation of laws and the wide availability of services; that in the end help to protect and aid those in need when their cycle strikes.Although there are always those who will take such advances in technology to their advantage, and desire harm rather than good.
Supressants
There are different kind of suppressants available, either over the counter or through a prescription depending on the dosages. Some may need stronger suppressants than others.Hormone suppressants (sometimes called pheromone suppressants) are used when trying to prevent a heat or a rut cycle, or when trying to control a hormone imbalance that is causing a cycle to be irregular, or too intense. These can be taken orally or injected, depending on the dosage. Patches are also available through prescription and minor surgery, as the patch is intradermal. When suppressants are recommended to be taken, it is also recommended to allow at least a natural cycle once to twice per year. The constant use of suppressants without interruption may lead to a higher dosage needed, or even to a failure in said suppressant. In the case of the latter, it can rapidly induce a very strong reaction, in the form of a high pheromone charged cycle.
.Please donโt mistake these suppressants with the 'double hormone suppressant' treatment. The targeted hormones are different and they come in different starting dosages for the classes as it is meant for intervention treatment.
(See Biology - Bitching and Studding)
Blockers
Blockers, also known as 'Scent Blockers' are specialized in neutralizing the scent, and to an extent the pheromones emitted.Scent blockers that usually come in the form of sticky patches (Blocker Patches) that can be placed over the major scent glands. Depending on how dull or muted the person wants their scent to be. Most commonly a scent blocker patch is used over the major scent gland on the neck, which makes the scent dull enough to not be distinguishable to specific scent identity, but enough to distinguish the presented class.Scent blockers in the form of an injection (Blocker Pens) come with a small amount of hormone suppressants. These are generally used in situations of emergency, as they have been developed as auto-injectors. If a person starts their cycle in public, and it gets to the point of disrupting order, then a healthcare professional, or a trained accredit person (also known as TABS - refer to this section's Laws and Services) may use this autoinjector in order to rapidly suppress the scent, and temporarily reduce the amount of hormones and pheromones produced. The dosage is only enough to get them to safety, a proper suppressant is needed to stop the cycle.Scent blockers can also come in certain cosmetics, like soap and shampoo, although not as strong or effective as the patches, they help in muting down the scent. Lastly, there are scent blockers that come as stick-on barriers (Blocker Tapes) for homes; these are usually used to make a heat/rut room, in order to prevent the scent and pheromones from leaking to the outside.
Birth Control
Birth control that is to be taken orally or injected (depending on dosage and frequency), all contain a type of hormone suppressant (but not all hormone suppressants are for birth control). The hormone suppressants in birth control medication target another set of hormones, but much like the hormone suppressants, it is best to have a natural cycle (without the use of hormone-based birth control) at least once or twice a year. The constant use of these types of birth control may lead to a higher dosage needed. Sometimes it may lead to an adverse reaction, such as allergies developed, or to reduced fertility.A barrier method of birth control is available for alphas, betas, and omegas; for both male and females.Birth control through surgery is also available, however it is best to speak to a healthcare provider about the options. This guide will not go into them.
Laws and Services
There are many laws implemented for the protection and order of the society. Many of which stem from omega rights movements and beta advocacy. Some old laws that are still enforced today may be mentioned in this section.Services described here are considered mostly modern, as many of these services were not available before, at least not openly and safely.
Laws
Omega Act Section 2.1:
โNo public matingโThis is one of the older laws, implemented when too many incidents, involving omegas going into heat in public places, occurred. The chaos that ensued was too problematic and therefore the law was implemented, firstly to prevent public unrest, and later reevaluated to save those omegas that went into an unexpected heat and did not want any stranger as a mate.
.Alpha Act Section 3.2-1:
โNo fights in public spacesโThis law was revised and changed many times. It is vastly ignored even in modern times. The law is said to have originated after a very sought after omega caused a brawl of at least ten (10) alphas and even some brave betas. Wherein, many suffered great injuries and one of the betas died as a result of the fight.Nowadays, fights that are โsociallyโ acceptable are those where an alpha (or beta) is defending their mate, or in some cases staking a very obvious and public claim (though those are rarer to witness and sometimes punishable by a warning).
.Healthcare Act Section 1.4:
โBlockers are freely availableโUnlike in older times, where blockers were rather expensive; a commodity rather than a right, and would cause many economical problems for omegas. Now these are widely available, most of the most common or generic brands are free, or at a very affordable price. Only very strong or specialized blockers may be on the more expensive side. Even then most health insurance policies cover them partially. The same applies for suppressants
(under the Healthcare Act 1.5-1) though they are less likely to be fully covered by insurance.
.Equality Act 1.2:
โHeat/Rut leave is availableโCompanies are now required to allow their employees an allotted time of at least one (1) week per cycle for a heat or rut leave. If more time is needed due to an irregular cycle, a special permission is needed along with certification by the healthcare provider and it is likely not to be paid leave. At least this has slowly improved as before heat or rut leave was only three (3) days per cycle. If we go further back in time, there was no such leave (as omegas were rarely allowed proper work, and alpha public ruts were a common and dangerous occurrence).Additionally sub-section 1.2-4 includes a 'partner leave', still only for bonded partners, of the same amount of time. The requirement is to previously register a partner with the company and healthcare provider so the partner's company can be notified and paperwork received.
Specialized Toys
The growing demand for toys of a sexual nature reached new heights as the laws and political movements allowed more freedom for omegas and also alphas. This created a whole industry focusing on specialized toys.Although most of these toys are focused on alpha and omega sexual needs and pleasures in mind. Betas have been known to make use of them as well, particularly the ones that are not focused on the scent and pheromones.
.Knotted Dildos
There is a wide variety of knotting dildos, with different sizes of knots. Ranging from small ones for virgin beginners (popular among prudish omegas) to full sized ones to give the most real of experiences. There are also larger ones that can sometimes dub as plugs. Most of these knotted dildos have an orgasm simulation function. The artificial semen comes in three (3) different viscosities, and various scents.
.Artificial Pheromones
These are made to simulate the effects certain pheromones have on alphas or omegas (not to be confused with hormone treatments, these artificial pheromones do not affect the health or alter the secondary gender in any temporary or permanent way). These may cause a temporal heat or rut in reaction to it, but generally are soothing and calming. Some high end shops take custom made requests.
.Slick Bottles
A delicacy for the rich, and mostly found in specialized and exclusive shops. Many omegas have sold their slick in a bottle without ever knowing if an alpha ever purchased it. The providers are rarely seen at the shop as the bottles are usually gathered in secrecy from certified providers (requires label). This is a business that used to be in the black market but was made legal to regulate and monitor the product and the conditions of the providers.
.Slick Fleshlights
A truly popular item among alphas (and even with betas) these can come in different lengths, sizes, and the inner ribbing can vary. The slick feature allow for artificial slick to be used, and the most expensive ones can even self-clean.Most can use natural slick from slick bottles.
.Plugs
Come in different sizes and even attachments. Some can have artificial pheromones which can stimulate slick production in omegas.
.Collars
There are an immense variety of collars, most are custom made, the designs are usually displayed in shops and can be adjusted to request. Collars are usually made to protect from mating bites, or to show off a mating bite without the danger of someone biting over it (see Biology - Mating and Bonding). Some collars may can with scent blockers.
Heat or Rut Rooms and Centers
With the improvement of healthcare, came more facilities that also improved the lifestyle and wellbeing of the classes regardless of economical status. One of such facilities are the heat or rut rooms and centers. For the rooms (Cycle Rooms), these are located in various public areas, such as malls, parks, and stations in case an omega or alpha went suddenly into their cycle. This are used especially when there is no TABS to help them or if they are far from a place of safety like home or a facility center. This way the omega or alpha can remain safe, and the public can remain calm. The centers (National Health Centers NHC) can also have such rooms available even in advance in case the omega or alpha don't have a safe place where to spend their cycle. The centers also have other facilities and services, such as training for TABS and having areas to provide rental, also some have specialists for abandoned individuals, or those who have suffered of any type of abuse. The centers are more spread out than the cycle rooms, perhaps in a city there can be one (1) center, with over fifteen (15) rooms spread all over the city.
Training for Hormone Administration
The centers also have hormone administration services and professionals, where they also provide training for TABS.TABS or 'trained and accredited beta in service' comes from how the program originated. Though many are betas in the program, the centers have trained alphas and omegas alike, many of which are concerned partners or relatives. With the certification, the person is allowed to carry and administer (with proof of need in an emergency) a low dose blocker or even suppressant (under a different license) to an omega or alpha in need in a public setting.Such low dose blockers or suppressants allow the trained individual or others to aid the one in need reach a facility or safe space, without completely losing their mind.Misuse or abuse by trained individuals can be reported to the local center and an investigation will be open. Such blockers or suppressants are of certified only for medical use due to their dose and administration method, hence are strictly regulated. Even when prescribed, the individual will go through the program of TABS to self-administer.
Rent for a Cycle Services
A very popular service to request at the center is for rental (sometimes called Heat or Rut Calls). All of the alphas and omegas on the service as providers are requested to be tested regularly and given a round of special suppressants. A background check is also obligatory, and a waiting period. The providers first start to provide their services at the center, before entering the roster of home visits. The service provided may vary, and it is added to the provider's profile. Whilst some may only provide basic care and therapeutic pheromone soothing through scenting sessions, others may agree to protected (a requirement) sexual intercourse. The latter are the providers that are monitored more often.
Health and The Black Market
The black market has always been renovating their products alongside the development of healthcare and the technology such advance bring, however some of the mentioned are most notable and popular for purchase.
Inducers
Heat or rut inducers can come in different mediums. The faster acting ones come in an injection, marketed as autoinjectors for ease of use.The slower acting ones can be inn powder form that can be dissolved. These are colorless and odorless, with a strong herbal and sweet taste, and bitter aftertaste. There are others in incense form that have a general herbal scent, these must be in a room and contrate the fumes in order to be effective. Most inducers are of a very high dosage of artificial hormones that are similar to the hormones produced when on a preheat or pre-rut, causing the onset of a heat or rut. The victim may feel sudden dizziness, weakness, and nausea. As the body is not able to go through a proper pre-cycle, it may be very taxing with the cycle being stronger and lasting longer.
Pheromone Shots
Auto-injectables of a strong dose of pheromones, usually custom made by synthesizing more of the pheromone sample along with a very mild inducer. These are used to bitch an alpha (or even stud an omega) without their consent. This method is less time consuming than a traditional method, however the process is more painful, confusing, and chances of a successful conversion are much lower than normal.
Omega/Alpha Trafficking and Pup Grooming
Omega trafficking was higher before when the slick bottle business was still illegal. Most omega, as well as alpha trafficking is now as sex slaves of rich patrons in private auctions. Omega broodmares are not uncommon in such auctions. Illegal alpha fighting rings for fanatics are also another reason for trafficking.Pups are not usually for sale, as instincts of protectiveness may get in the way. Most trafficked pups are groomed into a particular secondary gender, exposed early to the influence of pheromones through sex. Most pups are groomed by their captors before selling them at auctions as young omegas or alphas. Although there are certain organizations within the black market that are willing to take in the pups for the process of either grooming into a secondary gender and sold, or to be groomed into betas and used as cheap labor within the organization.
Spirituality

There is a spiritual importance when it comes to the secondary gender. Most, if not all, describe a different experience when it comes to what is called as the 'inner self', which is akin to the manifestation of the second genderโs instincts. In modern days, most take it that this are simply instincts, but others may label it even as a separate entity.
Instincts and the Inner-Self
The nature of the secondary gender has been explained (or attempted to through the latest research results) many times through the scientific (anatomical and physiological) sense. However it is very important to mention how said โinstinctsโ may cause a rift in the mind between logical thought and the animalistic impulse. Many call it the 'inner-self', almost as if talking about a different entity to one's self. Where instincts become their own self when facing the individual's logical thoughts. Many times this division between logic and instincts in the secondary genders, and mostly seen in alphas and omegas (although some betas have been reported and studied on such behaviors), has helped the individual rationalize their cycle and their more baser character. In older times where many things of the secondary gender were unknown or misunderstood, this was more present and seen.
Bonds and Destiny
There is something 'spiritual' when bonds are made, or at least that is the general consensus. Something else is involved apart from biology and chemistry. Unseen and equally unknown (and understudied) but very much felt.Bonds have always been taken seriously and given a great importance. They are a definitive step forwards in the relationship, or a terrible and punishable sin to commit when not discussed. However, there are different kinds of bonds according to the spiritual (and almost religious) sense, and these bonds may sometimes be broken.
Forming Bonds and Claiming Bonds
It was previously mentioned on how bonds are physically formed, through the few successful studies on the effects of a claiming bite on the body's physiology.
(See Biology - Mating and Bonding)For this section however, the psychological, or rather as many would say, the spiritual approach will be discussed. This starts with the connection the bonded pair feels that 'goes beyond biology'. It has been reported in some studies, that the pairs may form a 'certain kind' of bond prior to a claiming bond where the โsymptomsโ are described as a milder version of an actual bond.Experiments were performed on such case studies, though they provided mostly inconclusive results, the general observation is that a sort of 'spiritual bond' is formed between the pair much like a physical one, even before such is even considered or manifested. The pain of its rupture is comparable, and the anguish is similar; though its formation process and rupture have too many unknown factors to discuss. After a physical claiming bond, bonded pairs have claimed to feel how the other one is feeling. In a very vague and broad sense. An experiment was run four (4) times on the matter. First it was thought that the bonded pair were more sensitive to the mood changes due to the biological alterations of the pheromone release. However after attempting the experiment on a different setting and with the pairs being widely separated the results were still similar to the first run. It was concluded that a 'spiritual connection' had been established, but it could not be proved accurately through scientific means.A different experiment was made with pairs with unwanted physical claiming bonds (after an accidental claiming bite occurs or victims of abuse). Said experiment never published its results.
Fated Pairs
Something that has never been able to be explained are 'fated pairs'.Even after research was performed on pheromone composition, hormone compatibility, and other factors, results were very varied and inconclusive.A myth that has lasted for millennia, passed down from generations in the form of version of a folktale, has always involved elements of stars and spirits. Many nowadays no longer believe in fated pairs, but there have been many cases involving what can only be described as fated pairs, many of which can be said to have formed a spiritual bond so strong that it had connected their very souls. But perhaps we may never really know the truth or logical reason behind it.
Abandonment
More common in omegas than alphas or betas due to how many pairs initiate their claiming bonds. It is a state of of deep depression due to the rejection of a mate. This can get so strong that the pheromone composition is altered. It is still unknown how it happens exactly, but the โscentโ perceived is very pungent and bitter, and very difficult to change or revert.Services for abandoned omegas are on the rise (as alphas or betas have been less likely to search for such services but are equally welcomed), where intense care is given to attempt to improve the omega's state of mind, and to bring their scent back to its original state. An 'abandoned' individual usually possesses a claiming bite, in which case they are also advised and guided if they need overwriting or unbonding. Abandoned individuals may also show no physical claiming bite; spiritual bonds are little understood, hence guidance and aid for these individuals focuses solely on mental and spiritual care provided.
Hybrids
In some alternate universe, or maybe not, the classes may also have a wide range of hybridity to them. Sometimes they might be able to morph into their non-human form. Possibilities in these other universes (or perhaps in our own) have been understudied, so a general idea has been noted down in this section.Note that no hybrids have been found outside these classifications.
.
Please for these classes and sub-classes do not be confused with the taxonomy of animal classification, it has almost nothing to do with it.
Milukid
(Mammalian traits only)
Canids
Their tails are usually fluffy, and their sense of smell is the most sensitive out of all hybrids.
Bear-like hybrids are also part of this sub-class.
They are very territorial and aggressive, and are the most common sub-class of hybrids found. Their claws tend to be less sharp than other sub-classes, and their canines are broader and slightly blunter.
Canid alphas posses larger knots.
Canid omegas can 'lock' the knot in after orgasming.
Felids
Their tail are usually long and have some of the most sensitive hearing.
Other cat-like hybrids are also part of this sub-class.
They like to physically mark their partners a lot, and can get a bit violent during intercourse. Their canines and claws are sharper.
Felid alphas posses slightly smaller knots, however they may have barbs on the underside of their penis.
Omega felines tend to produce more slick due to those barbs.
Others
The two above are the most common hybrid sub-class in the Milukid class of hybrids. Although there are other less common sub-classes such as:
Glirids
Smaller in size, even for the alphas. Their ears are the most sensitive. Their tails are generally thick and quite strong.
Mouse-like and rabbit-like hybrids are part of this sub-class.
These hybrids are known to have more frequent cycles, and numerous pregnancies. Their canines are some of the most blunt of the sub-classes.Chiroptids
Small in size, even for the alphas, similar to the sub-class Glirids. These however tend to have weaker sight, but very good hearing. These hybrids also have wings that are leathery.
Bat-like hybrids are part of this sub-class.
These hybrids are known to have less frequent cycles, although their pregnancies tend to be numerous.
Equids
Larger in size, even for the omegas. These have 6 limbs, much like a 'centaur', making their anatomy largely different.
Horse-like hybrids are part of this sub-class.
These hybrids are known to have some of the longest pregnancies. Their canines are the most blunt of the sub-classes. They also tend to have a long courtship period, keeping up with past traditions.
Equid alphas tend to have longer penises to reach deeper.
Equid omegas have a deeper placed cloacal membrane.
Cetids
Largest in size, even for the omegas. These have developed fins and tails for life in the water, and a large lung capacity.
Whale, seal and dolphin-like hybrids are part of this sub-class.
These hybrids are also known to have some of the longest pregnancies. They also tend to place great importance in fated pairs and bonds.
Their 'outer' sexual organs are contained within a cloaca.
Cetid alphas tend to have longer penises that are prehensile.
Equid omegas have a deeper placed cloacal membrane.
Fedid (Avian traits)
Grow feathers and have wings sprouting from their back (except the Unkeelid sub-class). Instead of knots, they may have ribbed penises. Omegan avians may form an egg and find ease in carrying eggs to term. Eggs are laid and incubated - some may not make it.
Their arms and legs may be covered in scale-like rough skin. Some of these hybrids can have mutations where-in two sets of wings can be formed, which in the past they were confused with angels, or some other myths.
Raptid
This sub-class has a meat-based diet, causing their teeth to be sharper and stronger (where bones can be crunched). Both alphas and omegas have very sharp canines and claws; bond marks from this sub-class are very deep and generally take less tries to take.
Tellurid
This sub-subclass has some of the larger wingspans, and their eggs are generally muted in colour.
Hypercarnivorous land bird-hybrids are a large part of this sub-subclass.
Aequonid
This sub-subclass has the largest wingspans, and their eggs are generally muted in colour. Their feathers are waterproof. They have a large lung capacity.
Shorebird and gull-hybrids are a large part of this sub-subclass.
Some water bird-hybrids are also part of this sub-subclass
Fowlid
This sub-class is mostly allergic to meats. Their feathers are also particularly colourful, specially on alphas. Some of the sub-subclasses have long tail feathers.
Gallid
This sub-subclass has some of the smaller wingspans, and their eggs are generally colourful. Most cannot fly for long distances.
Most hybrids in this sub-subclass have high fertility rates.
Ansid
This sub-subclass has the smallest wingspans, and their eggs are generally colourful. Most fly for the longest of distances.
Some water bird-hybrids are also part of this sub-subclass
Unkeelid
Similar to Raptids, however this subclass does not have wings. Their feathers are generally thicker, and some within this sub-class can have webbing on hands and feet.
The eggs from this sub-class are generally larger.
Draconid (Reptilian traits)
Grow scales and have scaled tails (with the exception of Tedids) that can grow back if cut (with the exception of Serpids). Their teeth are the sharpest of all hybrids, with their scent glands having a thicker layer of skin.
Instead of knots, they may have either double penises, or an ovipositor (depending on the sub-class). Omegan reptiles are more flexible and stretchy, they may also find ease in carrying eggs to term. Eggs are laid and incubated - some may not make it.
Draconiad
Some may have horns coming from their heads, and they have scaley leathery wings sprouting from their backs (although some may have feathers instead). Their scales are the dry and rough, the hardest within this class.
Dragon-like hybrids are in this sub-class.
Sea and feathery dragon-like hybrids are in this sub-class.
This also make their canines the sharpest and their bite the hardest in order to form bonds.
These sub-class hybrids are known to form life-time bonds with no possibility of ever removing or overwriting it.
See Biology - Mating and BondingThe eggs when initially laid are soft and leathery, and harden into a thick shell overtime. Their eggs also have the longest of incubation periods. They remain very warm to the touch through out their incubation period.
Omegas of this sub-class need to have their cervix broken into
so the eggs have higher chances to take.
Alphas of this sub-class have two penises,
one that is an ovipositor and another that produces semen.
The knot is the thickest of all hybrids.
Crodid
Their scales are the dry and rough. Their tail is flattened and specialized for swimming.
Gator-like hybrids are part of this sub-classThe eggs have a relatively hard shell, and are usually soft brown or creamy in colour.
Many mates from this sub-class do not form bonds.
Alphas of this sub-class have an ovipositor instead of a knot.Tedid
Their scales are some of the hardest within the class. Some may be segmented into parts of their body, or even forming a shell like structure.
Turtle-like hybrids are part of this sub-classTheir eggs are some of the softest.
Many mates from this sub-class do not form bonds.
Omegas usually leave the care of their eggs to the alpha
Alphas of this sub-class have an ovipositor instead of a knot.
Lepid
Their scales are softer than the aforementioned sub-classes, their also more colourful and they regularly molt their skin and scales, which make them have the best looking skin out of all classes of hybrids.
This also causes them to rarely have scaring - including from bond marks - and it is therefore harder to make sure when a physical bond has formed.
This sub-class has some of the longest canines.
Reptid
The largest sub-subclass of Lepids.
Their tails are long, and can also fall if they get too stressed, particularly for omegas.
Their eggs tend to be smaller, and they grow rapidly during the incubation period.
Alphas of this sub-subclass have an ovipositor instead of knot. There are some Reptids that may look like Serpids - however they have an ovipositors instead of the two (2) prehensile penises within a cloaca.
Lizard and legless-lizard like hybrids are in this sub-subclass.
Some amphibians are in this sub-subclass.
Serpid
The largest hybrids in the sub-subclass of Lepids, but rather rare to encounter as most prefer to stay in more isolated areas.
Their lower bodies are long (at almost five (5) times their more human part).
Snake-like hybrids are in this sub-subclass
Viper-like hybrids are in this sub-subclass, venomous too...
Instead of knots, they have two prehensile penises, which are hidden within a cloaca. Male omegas have smaller prehensile penises and the lower part of the cloaca will lead into the uterus.
Their eggs tend to be soft and leathery.
Alphas of this sub-subclass have an ovipositor instead of knot.
Omegas of this sub-subclass produce the eggs.
Merid (Piscine traits)
Grow scales and have the bottom half of their torso much fish-like , they have gills protruding from their torsoโs sides and close to the back of the ears (which are also fin-like). This hybrids require to spend 16 hours submerged in water, otherwise their health may be compromised. Instead of knots, they have ovipositors which are hidden within a cloaca. Male omegas have a smaller penis and the lower part of the cloaca will lead into the uterus.
The alphas penis is prehensile.
The omegas womb is very spongy to keep the soft eggs safe.
Their anatomy is very different from the one depicted in Biology - Heats and Ruts
Osteichid
Their scales can be of many different colours. Their tails are the longest and their fin structures can vary a lot. Their tails move in an up and down motion.
This hybrid's eggs tend to be translucent and in an orb like form.
They also place great importance in courtships.
Omegas will carry their young until they hatch.
Fish-like hybrids are part of this sub-class.
Chondrid
Their scales are rather rough and very monotone and dull in colour. Their tails are the strongest and their fin structures can be very sharp. Their tails move in a side to side motion.
This hybrid's eggs tend to be translucent and in with an oblong-like form, usually only one survives because the shell is very thin and vulnerable.
They have rather violent courtships, involving fighting both with rivals and with the potential mate.
Omegas of this sub-class have smaller wombs, eggs are laid early.
Shark and ray-like hybrids are part of this sub-class.
Classes
There are various classes and variants of the secondary genders. These can be separated into 3.
.
- The common classes are the major classes of secondary genders.
- The other or known as uncommon classes are the most distinguishable variants of the common class.
- The rare classes are those that are rare to distinguish, and generally only referred to in a medical setting.
Common Classes
As mentioned, these are the major classes of secondary genders, including pups, who have not yet presented. Most of these classes are referred to as their class name, with the exception of pups, not only under a medical setting but also on a day to day basis.

ฮฮพ Pups or Kits (Xi)
General Information
This class is the only class that exists prior to adulthood.
Classified as Xi, itโs when no presentation has happened yet, which can occur at different ages depending on the class they might present as in adulthood.
See Society - PresentingScents/Pheromones
Pups or kits generally have a mixed scent that comes from their parents (mostly enhanced through parents scenting their offspring), along with the scent of milk.
The scent of milk disappears after a certain age, usually a couple of years before presenting (sometimes used to do early predictions of the presenting time period and secondary gender class). Once the milk scent disappears, their own scent starts to be develop.
They still have the scent of their parents through constant scenting with them, once they start their presentation, they find the scent of the parents the most comforting.Biology
Their biology does not let it be distinguished if they will be alpha, beta, or omega. As they possess an underdeveloped version of the organs that are usually distinguishable for reproduction and birthing. Which later get developed or shedded (shrunken into useless vestiges) after presenting.
See Biology - Heats and RutsFor the primary sex, males and females are distinguished by the amount of pheromones secreted, which then also influence the โstrengthโ of the secondary gender class presentation. Most distinguishable is that females have a larger portion of breast tissue than males.

ฮฮฑ Alpha
General Information
Alphas are generally regarded for their strength, and they do usually have more muscle mass than the other common classes. This is why they have been traditionally regarded as leaders, and placed in positions of power. Their stamina and speed has also been traditionally recognized as part of their prowess.Scents/Pheromones
Sharper and spicier scents are usually associated with alphas, mostly when angry the scent turns bitter and suffocating like burning wood and ash. When sad their scents are usually a watered down version.
When their mate is expecting, an alphaโs scent tends to become more concentrated, possibly as protective means.Biology
Alphas are biologically understood to have a body developed to protect their mate, as well as to sire pups with said mate. This is why most of their muscle develops on arms and legs, and their stamina is considered to be great in order to satisfy a mate during their cycle (usually associated with an omegaโs heat). Their larger testicles and elongated phallus, along with their knot, ensures for better impregnation success of their mate.
For more information check out Biology - Heats and RutsTheir pheromones are one of the strongest among the classes, which may impact others around them when these are released in great concentration to intimidate. Lesser alphas may back down simply by such a pheromone overload. Alphas are usually mistaken to be the only class that can form a bond, this is due to their sharper fangs and the special glands that can aid in injecting the pheromones that may cause a bond to take.

ฮฮฒ Beta
General Information
Betas are regarded for their โnormalcyโ; they make up the largest percentage of the population, and are therefore the largest percentage in the workforce. Many can be found working where pheromone disruption would cause large problems, such as in healthcare environments, and other related services.Scents/Pheromones
Mellower and softer flowery scents are usually associated with betas, being a muted version of such. It is difficult to tell a betaโs mood through their scent as the changes are not as obvious as those in the other classes.
However there is a general scent attributed to betas, wherein their pheromones aid in calming down a raging alpha or a frightened omega by โcanceling outโ the overwhelming pheromones. This is not always effective.Biology
Betas are biologically understood to have a body in which neither an alpha's or omega's distinguishable biology is present. A male beta can sire pups, not as efficiently as an alpha; and a female beta can birth pups, not as frequently as an omega. They are not as aggressive as the other two common classes, and are therefore regarded as โnormalโ in some cases, due to their vast numbers.Their pheromones are one of the weakest among the classes, they may sometimes be able to mask other pheromones, however the chances of doing so are very low.

ฮฉฯ Omega
General Information
Traditionally speaking, omegas have suffered quite a lot. Mostly seen as weak and vulnerable, they were used as trade tokens, focusing more on their capabilities of bearing children. Even when their intelligence had been statistically proven to be higher, most were never allowed to be in positions of power, or even able to get a job throughout history. After a revolution in omega rights, most of these traditional and conservative views have been discarded and deemed discriminatory. However, some traditions and beliefs still remain circulating around in the general populace as such have been passed down through the generations.
Check out Society - Traditions and MythsScents/Pheromones
Softer and sweeter scents are usually associated with omegas, when angry or distressed the scent turns acidic like a pungent vinegar-like scent. When sad their scents become watered down and a bit bitter.
When expecting, their scent becomes more concentrated, and may sometimes start smelling like milk and honey.Biology
Even though most of their biology has been centered on their child bearing capabilities, there are many things omegas develop in order to be able to protect their family, not unlike an alpha. Their muscles are leaner for speed and agility in confusing their enemy which also allows for greater flexibility, most fatty tissue centers around their hips, lower abdomen and chest, protecting their inner organs in those areas. Their pain threshold is also quite high, being able to withstand a grave wound infliction. An omegas wider and curved body aids for the birthing, even though the birthing canal in male omegas may be tighter due to the thickened muscles. Usually this canal is not used for anything other than birthing in male omegas, as their primary gender pheromones cause the entrance to tighten close and lack slick production. The entrance will only become flexible when entering labor.Their pheromones are usually not regarded as powerful, in terms of overpowering others. However they are very influential and may indirectly affect others, as usually other classes do not want to smell an upset omega. Omega lack the sharp fangs alphas have for bonding, but in exchange they have sharper claws that have developed for defense when the omega is vulnerable during their heat or pregnancy. Interestingly, an omegaโs slick is very thickly charged with a concentrated charge of pheromones when aroused during pregnancy.
Other Classes
These classes include variants of the common classes that are distinguishable, and less rare than the rare classes, and therefore may be called by their variationโs class instead, even outside of a medical setting.

ฮกฯ Enigma (Rho)
General Information
This alpha class variant has a more developed physique due to the higher concentration of hormones.
Their muscles are stronger, but leaner, giving a false impression of weakness wherein they both have the strength and speed to face any rival.Scents/Pheromones
Similar to alpha scents but more predominantly present and marked, they rarely water down. It becomes even more overbearing when their mate is expecting as a way to ward off other alphas. Their pheromones can easily make even the strongest of common alphas to back down.Biology
Similar to an alpha.
Though it is alleged that they produce more semen and are more well endowed.
No study has been made on it.

ฮฃฯฯ Sigma
General Information
An omega class variant that has weaker hormones. This causes their traits to be more alpha-like, with broader muscles than the common omega. They can even ignore some weaker alpha pheromone's pressure.Scents/Pheromones
Omega like scents, but less sweet. Still obviously smooth scents like most omega.Biology
Much like an omega, with narrower hips.
They generally have successful but complicated pregnancies.

ฮฮด Delta
General Information
An omega class variant that has developed beta-like pheromones. These class of omega are also usually found in healthcare and public service, using their conflict disrupting pheromones to smoothen the tense situations.Scents/Pheromones
The scent is similar to a betaโs but stronger. It can also more effectively mask out the other pheromones into a nullifying effect, much more effective than the usual common beta pheromones.Biology
Similar to a sigma, although they statistically have less complicated pregnancies than sigmas.

ฮฮณ Gamma
General Information
A beta variant that has developed physically as either an alpha or an omega even when having beta hormone structures presents.Scents/Pheromones
Much like a beta.Biology
The glands are underdeveloped much like a beta, however their body somehow suffered an imbalance during development, and therefore they develop as an alpha or omega. Their body, even though fully mature and developed, is on the smaller side, as marking anatomical features of the other main secondary genders are small in comparison. Being essentially a beta, they do not undergo ruts or heats, but can be a bit sensitive to scents produced by another going through their cycle.
Rare Classes
These classes include variants of the common classes that are rare and usually only discovered after a medical check up, most are generally referred to as their common class they derive from, and only are referred to their specific class under a medical setting. There are some exceptions.

ฮฮป Lambda
General Information
Alpha variant that lacks sensitivity to their own hormones.Scents/Pheromones
Softer than a usual alphaโs scent, can be confused with a beta. Although the scent profile is spicier and less mellow than betas.Biology
Their body matures as an alpha, but after their first cycle, their body becomes less sensitive to the hormones. This causes the alpha to not go into a rut after a few cycles. Usually close to sterile as the sperm count plummets.Lambdaโs are part of how the myth of omega's being unable to get pregnant without a knot started.

ฮฮต Epsilon
General Information
This alpha variant has beta-like pheromones.Scents/Pheromones
The scent is similar to a betaโs but stronger. It can also more effectively mask out the other pheromones into a nullified effect than a common beta variant.Biology
Much like an alpha, but with a smaller knot and leaner muscles.

ฮงฯ Chi
General Information
Alpha variant with beta physical features.Scents/Pheromones
Just like an alpha.Biology
Their body develops to look just like a beta. However the pheromones they produce are just like an alphaโs.

ฮฅฯ Luna (Upsilon)
General Information
A rare alpha variant that did not develop correctly and possesses physical attributes to that of an omega.Usually female, as male lunas are very rare, as it is the female hormones that affect the alpha's development in this case.Scents/Pheromones
Just like an alpha's.Biology
Much like an alpha's, their knots may be a little smaller. During their development from pups, their partial-cloaca did not close off completely and therefore their uterus is still accessible through the partial-cervix in that area. Therefore partially similar to an omega (or female beta) these alpha's may in theory be able to get pregnant and carry young. Depending on that reproductive systemโs level of development. However, the recorded "successful" pregnancies are scarce.
See Biology - Pregnancy and Birth

ฮฮผ/ฮฮฝ Zennos (Mu/Nu)
General Information
An omega (Mu) and alpha (Nu) variant known as Zennos, wherein the scent and pheromones are the opposite to the presented body anatomy.Scents/Pheromones
An omega with alpha like pheromones, or an alpha with omega like pheromones.Biology
Their body might be less obvious of the secondary gender class due to the hormone differences with their heat or rut being milder. Other than that they appear just like a regular omega or alpha, respectively.

ฮฮบ Omni (Kappa)
General Information
An experimental alpha/omega variant that does not occur naturally. All occurrences of this variant have been seen in vitro. Studied and bred under controlled environments and terminated once they reproduced a desired classification of young. This was
A mixture between alpha and omega scents with a milder version of both pheromones present at once.Biology
Their body is a perfect mixture of both secondary genders at full maturity. Therefore they were capable of carrying and siring pups.

ฮฮน Iota
General Information
This omega class variant has more obvious omega qualities due to the higher concentration of hormones.Scents/Pheromones
Similar to omega scents but predominantly present and marked, they rarely water down.Biology
Similar to an omega but with more prominent features.
Allegedly more fertile, although no study has been made.

ฮฮท Eta
General Information
A rare omega variant that did not develop correctly and possesses physical attributes to that of an alpha.Scents/Pheromones
Like an omegaโs.Biology
Much like an omegaโs, their hips and partial-cloacal opening may be narrower. During their development from pups, their prostate and seminal ducts did not close off completely and therefore their semen is still produced with sperm. Therefore similar to an alpha (or male beta) these omegas may in theory be able to get sire pups. Depending on that reproductive systemโs level of development. However, due to the limited space in their uterus, it is unlikely that this omega variant can carry to term.
See more in Biology - Pregnancy and Birth

ฮคฯ Tau
General Information
Omega variant that lacks sensitivity to their own hormones.Scents/Pheromones
Softer than a usual omegaโs scent, can be confused with a beta. Although the scent profile remains sweet and floral.Biology
Their body matures as an omega, but after their first cycle, their body becomes less sensitive to the hormones. This causes the omega to not go into a heat after a few cycles. Usually close to completely sterile as the ovules released are undeveloped.Tauโs are part of how the myth of omega's being unable to get pregnant outside of heat started.
See more in Society - Traditions and Myths

ฮฮธ Theta
General Information
This beta class variant has more obvious beta qualities due to the higher concentration of hormones.Scents/Pheromones
Similar to beta scents but predominantly present and marked. It is a beta scent that can remain and even mask weaker alpha or omega scents.Biology
Similar to a beta but with more prominent features. This beta class variant is able to scent mark, as well as be able to perceive pheromones and scents.
It can also more effectively mask out the others' pheromones into a null effect with highest frequency rate of success out of all the beta class variants.

ฮฆฯ Phi
General Information
A beta variant that can either produce alpha or omega pheromones, without changing their overall hormone composition.Believed to be the product of omni parents.Scents/Pheromones
Alpha or omega pheromones and scents. Sometimes believed to be at will, mostly dependent on the situation and influence of other pheromones present.Biology
Just like a beta, with slightly enlarged glands.

ฮฮถ Zeta (ฮ ฯ Pi and ฮจฯ Psi)
General Information
A secondary class variant that maintains their bodyโs malleability. Depending on the hormone influence and balance, their next cycle may start changing their bodies to a particular secondary gender where it matures and remains until the next hormone shift. A neutral influence to change into a beta is named Zeta cycle, whereas influences for alpha and omega are named Pi and Psi cycle, respectively.Believed to be the product of omni parents.Scents/Pheromones
Just like the secondary gender their hormones are associated with, but milder. Sometimes imperceptible.Biology
Just like the secondary gender their hormones are associated with. Every so often it's like going through presentation time again on a shorter time scale. This can lead to a very painful lifestyle, as the body changes are not without pain.
The changes are not as prominent, and in general the reproductive organs involved remain on the smaller side.
When on a Zeta cycle (female beta) or on a Psi cycle (male or female omega), they are able to get pregnant. The cycle shift will be interrupted until the end of the pregnancy.

ฮฮฟ Null (Omicron)
General Information
A very rare secondary gender variant where there is no presentation, and they lack of secondary gender.Scents/Pheromones
No particular scent or pheromone produced.Biology
As a pup, their biology seems normal, but as they grow older their appearance may resemble that of a beta of their primary gender. However, no scent glands are present as they shrink into a negligible size. They cannot be influenced by hormones or pheromones as they develop (even in ways of treatment).Generally sterile due to the shrinkage of their main reproductive organs, although two (2) exceptions have been seen where the nullโs body develops more closely resembling that of a beta (no offspring was ever reported in those case studies).
